When I first arrived

When I first got to the studio, the news reporter came down the stairs with my book in her hand! She said she had already read it and absolutely loved it, which made me very happy! She then offered a tour of the entire news station! I saw all of the big lights and cameras, and the green screen that the meteorologist stands in front of to talk about the weather. (Fun fact: Most people don’t know that they don’t stand in front of a screen—they stand in front of a green cloth and the map is edited onto the video!) She gave me a variety of rooms to choose from as to where I’d like to be interviewed, and I settled on one in front of the 12News logo (12News is affiliated to NBC).

The Talk

The interviewer asked me so many interesting questions, often leaving me having to think for a bit before I responded! The talk was so fun—I really had to think on my feet, and it was fun to talk with the reporter. She was so nice! I got to share my experience of being a young author, and also give a word of advice for young people that are wanting to follow their dreams.
